CTQP Classes – QC Manager

Need a special class? Have just a few? Give us a call and let us help.

A Plus Training by Ron Henley is well equipped to instruct The CTQP QC Manager Qualification Course. Ron Henley, during his 39-year FDOT career, had direct working experience in Quality Control. In particular, mineral aggregate mines and redistribution terminals are required by FDOT to monitor key specifications of their products based on best QC practices and statistical control concepts.

Ron’s experience directly translates to the classroom for this course. While Ron was in the Aggregate Control Section of the State Materials Office, he developed a working knowledge of the things taught in QC Manager (see below). Keep an eye open for future courses on our schedule. For more information, call us at 352-339-4246. If you need a small class, no problem. Give us a call at 352-339-4246 and let us put a class together for you.

CTQP FDOT Concrete Field Inspector Specifications

A Plus Training by Ron Henley is pleased to announce we plan to add this course to our schedule very soon. Ron Henley has worked with FDOT for 39 years and has a wealth of knowledge and experience in concrete. Ron taught this course back when it was known as the 346-400 Spec Class. We all know concrete has literally been a moving target over the years and we are here to help you keep up with this ever-changing product. From the field to the laboratory, Ron has worked in Prestressed Concrete and Precast Concrete. In the early 1980s, Ron worked on a special structural concrete research team. This particular team utilized a motor home equipped with a computerized data acquisition system.

One such project was the Augalley Bridge where FDOT built the first-ever Bulb T Beams for the bridge span. The beams were instrumented with Strain Gages, Linear Voltage Displacement Transducers, and Thermocouple wires. Once the beam reached the required design strength, they were placed in a field load frame and load tested to failure. The data collected from such tests enabled engineers with FDOT to improve designs and predict how safe the beams would be under specified loads. Put your trust in people who have your back when it comes to experience in the classroom.

Course Objective: To assure job site concrete tests including Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Verification, and Dispute Resolution tests for concrete construction, used as part of the acceptance program, is performed in accordance with Standard Test Methods, project specifications and other contract documents.

Course Content:
FDOT Specifications on the field placement sampling and testing of Portland Cement Concrete
